A great skincare routine for women in their 20s

Ok ……this definitely differs by country.  Many Korean women, for example, don’t feel they are taking proper care of their skin unless they have a 14 step program. And I’m only partly joking here. 🙂    Women in India and Asia are often concerned about keeping the eveness of their skin tone and color.  Women in the United States and Canada tend to do NOTHING, until quite a bit of damage has been done. European women have it about right, in my opinion, because some basic education about skin starts early with healthy self care!   And women/mothers/some fathers, tend to pass the care down through generations. No matter where you’re from, below is a great start to a skincare routine. It will cover aging prevention and skin cancer prevention if you’re in your 20s!  Please see our shop for more ideas. Skincare routine for women in their 20s

Morning Skincare Routine:

  • Gentle cleanser (See some of my favorites here)
  • Good quality antioxidant (spend the extra on this product category — see my top picks here)
  • Acne meds if you need them
  • Moisturizer if you’re really dry.  Since you’re dry, try the Image SPF 30, which is a moisturizer and sunscreen.  Weirdly the 50 has less zinc.
  • Sunscreen with at least 8-20% zinc oxide depending on the season and what you do outdoors. Always always wear sunscreen!!
  • Make-up if you want

Before Bed Skincare Routine:

  • Gentle cleanser
  • Acne meds if you need them
  • Moisturizer geared toward your skin oiliness or lack of
  • A good quality non prescription retinol or a prescription tretinoin, Retin-A, etc. Differin is fine too.  (All of these are retinoids). This is for sun-damaged skin and for those wanting to prevent the appearance of wrinkles and aging.

* Please note that if you are using a prescription retinoid for your acne, you don’t need a second one!
